Our overarching project for my only lighting course in university, was to design a spa with a focus on lighting to create architectural features and moods throughout the space. For our concept, we had to take a picture of lighting and architecture that inspired us. I was lucky to have viewed a super blood wolf moon that had turned the moon red, and immediately got to work in creating a spa that had a large, captivating ceiling, but that hid the actual daylight, similar to the eclipse I witnessed. This was actually a partner project with Marylee Espinoza, and we were the 4th Place winners in 2019 IES Dallas Student Lighting Design Competition.
